Following up on the Wiggans family’s ground-up build, we check in on the progress!

L ast fall, drywall was going in on Melissa and Scott Wiggans’ new beach home on Tailwind Drive at Cinnamon Shore South. The San Antonio-based couple is eyeing a completion date later this year for “Holiday House.” Melissa has been working with Nicole Mi- chaud of Colorful Transformations by Nicole in

San Antonio on interiors, while builder UWC Custom Builders makes steady progress. “There are so many decisions,” Melissa says. “We have some amazing tile that is being installed in early summer, and then, hopefully everything really starts getting into place!” Melissa looks forward to seeing some creative bunk beds in place for daughters Brooke and Blair. “One bunk bed has

a slide,” she says, adding that the team responsible for wood trim is “doing lovely work.” Davies Collaborative of Austin designed the tower-topped home, which is located near Tailwind Park and not far from the beach access point. The slab was poured in De- cember 2022, and while building a custom home takes time, the end result will be worth it. “My builder has been excellent to work with, and the home is still within the projected timeframe,” Melissa says. “ It’s just like a little kid waiting for Christmas.”
